Dental crowns in Carson City, NV
When teeth are weakened, broken, or worn down, dental crowns, a key aspect of prosthodontics, provide a reliable way to restore their strength and appearance.
At Harmony Family Dentistry, our team uses advanced technology to create custom crowns that look and function just like natural teeth.
Whether you need to protect a damaged tooth, replace an old filling, or complete an implant, our crowns are designed with precision, comfort, and longevity in mind.
What are dental crowns?
A dental crown is a cap placed over a tooth to restore its shape, strength, and natural look. Crowns are often recommended when a filling is not enough to support a damaged tooth, when a tooth has undergone root canal therapy, or when a dental implant requires a permanent restoration.
At Harmony Family Dentistry, we specialize in same-day CEREC crowns, porcelain crowns, all-ceramic crowns, and dental crowns in general, ensuring that patients enjoy both convenience and long-lasting results.
Led by Dr. Vedran and Dr. Justine Dupanovic, our practice combines modern techniques with a caring, family-oriented environment. Patients in Carson City trust us for restorations that not only improve function but also deliver a smile they can feel confident about.
Same-day CEREC crowns
CEREC technology allows us to take digital impressions, design your crown with 3D software, and mill the restoration right in our office—all in a single visit. This eliminates the need for messy impressions, multiple appointments, or uncomfortable temporary crowns. Patients leave with their final restoration the very same day, saving both time and stress.
All-ceramic crowns
We focus on aesthetics as much as function, offering options like metal crowns alongside our all-ceramic alternatives to suit different needs and preferences. Our all-ceramic crowns blend seamlessly with surrounding teeth, providing a natural appearance while remaining durable enough to handle everyday chewing. Because they are metal-free, they are also biocompatible and safe for patients with metal sensitivities.
Why patients need dental crowns
Dental crowns are a versatile solution that can enhance oral health, offering many benefits even for decayed teeth:
- Protecting weak teeth – Prevent fractures in teeth that have been compromised by large fillings or cracks.
- Restoring broken or worn teeth – Bring back full chewing ability and comfort.
- Completing implants or bridges – Serve as the final step in replacing missing teeth.
- Improving cosmetic appearance – Enhance teeth that are discolored, oddly shaped, or uneven.
Choosing dental crowns means choosing stability and peace of mind—your smile remains strong, functional, and attractive.

What clients say about our dental crowns in Carson City, NV
I highly recommend Harmony Family Dentistry. I had a root canal and crown completed in one day. It was an amazing experience… gentle and very skilled. I also really like my Hygienist Beatrice!
I highly recommend this dental office! Everyone is very caring, professional, efficient and takes the time to explain everything to you beforehand and makes your comfort through your procedure a priority. I went in for a root canal and crown, the procedure was painless and I walked out with a beautiful quality crown the same day. I am glad I made Harmony Family Dentistry my new Dentist.
Sunday morning one of my crowns came out. I called the Harmony Family line and was able to contact Dr. Justine Dupanovic. She and her husband, Dr. Vedran Dupanovic would be in the office Sunday afternoon and for me to come on in so they could take a look at it. Dr Vedran greeted me at the door and after an examination offered to fix the crown then and there. This office is equipped with the latest dental technology enabling a new crown to be constructed and fitted on site. Both Drs Justine and Vedran are talented and caring dentists. I highly recommend this dental office.
Frequently asked questions
With proper care, crowns typically last 10–15 years, though many patients enjoy them for decades.
Signs include cracks, chips, looseness, or discomfort when biting. Regular dental checkups help catch these issues early.
A failing crown can allow bacteria to reach the underlying tooth, leading to decay, pain, or infection. Prompt replacement prevents serious problems.
Yes. Dental crowns protect damaged teeth, restore function, and improve appearance. They are often the best option when a filling is not sufficient.
No. While some enamel must be shaped to fit the crown, the process actually strengthens the tooth overall by providing lasting protection.
In cases of large decay or fractures, crowns provide more durability and strength than fillings. Fillings work best for small to moderate cavities.
Crowns do not cause gum recession, but poor oral hygiene or advanced gum disease can. Good brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings help maintain healthy gums.
Not when they fit properly. Bad breath can result from trapped food or decay under a failing crown, which is why regular checkups are important.
Veneers cover only the front surface of teeth and are mainly cosmetic. Crowns cover the entire tooth, making them better for strength and structural issues.
Costs vary depending on materials and whether same-day CEREC technology is used. Insurance often reduces the expense, and our office provides transparent estimates.
All-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, metal, and same-day CEREC crowns are the most common. We primarily focus on ceramic and CEREC crowns for their natural look and durability.
No. Local anesthesia ensures comfort, and most patients report little to no discomfort during or after placement.
In most cases, yes. A crown strengthens and protects the tooth after the inner pulp has been removed.
Yes. Pediatric crowns may be used for baby teeth with severe decay, ensuring proper function and spacing until permanent teeth erupt.
